Autopilot p70r install update…

Fully connected the system based upon the “proforma wiring diagram” I drew up for the SeatalkNG connections…everything went swimmingly until I tried the “Dockside calibration” of the p70r.
Getting the message “Task Fail – values too close”.

There is a post on Raymarine tech forum that seems to address that I have replied to and am awaiting response:

Autopilot Control Head installation and networking

The autopilot control head is currently planned as a Raymarine p70r. It needs to be connected by Seatalk ng cables to the course computer (Raymarine Spx30)

Network cabling needs to run from the control head (position to be determined) to the back bone cable.
Cable from the SPX30 Course computer needs to run to the backbone.
Cable from the E80 at the helm needs to run to the backbone(?) or is that already a backbone and begins the backbone (confirm visually on Honahlee…draw out and measure cable runs and order cables (3-15-14)  Confirmed cable from E80 is a SPUR cable…cable from SPX30 is a spur cable…  So I need a backbone cable, two terminators….still need to determine where Control head ties in wiring-wise

Autopilot RAM ? Simrad HLD2000L MK2 ?

I’m attempting to confirm that the autopilot RAM is in fact this model: Simrad HLD2000L MK2  Screen Shot 2014-03-11 at 2.36.10 PM

Screenshotted from this site near bottom of page: http://www.jgtech.com/shop15.htm

Irregardless for now I’m uploading the manual so I will have handy access as I continue the investigaton and definitive identification.

Relevant pages from the manual for electrical appear to be these two:

Seems I need to contact Simrad technical support to determine which wire is + and which is – for the “drive engage” i.e. clutch.  The power definitely connects to A / B and according to Raymarine is reversing polarity (which is why it is marked A / B and not +/-)

Called Simrad tech support 3-12-14 and they indicate clutch polarity is either way… Does not matter just needs to be energized is what they said. Seems we are almost ready to hook this up. Need cable for p70r head and determine it’s mounting location

Seems ferrite gets installed on flux gate cable
